This piece is symbolic of nature, it is a mixed media piece made from a combination of materials. My inspiration for this piece originated from my photographs of flowers close-up, when taking the images I would find myself concentrating on capturing the natural light that fell on the veins of the leafs. I then went on to drawing these veins and found myself concentrating on the pattern. I finally started to bring the veins out through texture and then furthered this by putting it on a canvas as a final. The technics within the piece were inspired by my class work as I found myself enjoying the different forms of texture. When creating my piece my ambition was to make it visually pleasing to the viewer, this was to represent the beauty of nature. The piece overall took 5 months to complete, each individual leaf took 2 weeks to complete. |
