This piece represents ‘the circle of life’, and has my reflection within the circle to portray that the piece is personal, and about me, but does not show any facial features or details so suggests my personality, and the fact that I do not like to be seen. The bar going through the centre of the circle represents barriers that one comes across in their lifetime and the two sides to life; positive and negative. As well as that, the bright colours represent the chaos and excitement within life, whereas the bold, dark colours represent the negative side of life. The vertical lines look as if they are prison bars, therefore representing the feeling of being trapped within my ‘life circle’ unable to escape, and also draws the viewer’s eye to the centre of the image focusing it mainly on the portrait within the circle. |
