This is a still shot from a short art film I did. The film is 3 minutes 10 seconds long. The film explores the concept that all life begins as a blank canvas and that it is only through meeting others and experiencing the world that you are able to colour the surface of your life. The film begins with the sound of a heartbeat as I wanted to invoke a sense of the model being in the womb, an impression emphasised by her fetal-like position. From this I wanted to express a transition from: innocence to maturity, youth to adulthood and dependence to individuality, through the transition from white to colour, with colour symbolising the way memories stain, like paint, your consciousness and make you who you are. |
