Part 2 of Aviary triptych
This piece explores the ominous nature of mortality. Alert upon the seemingly lifeless branches, the yellow wagtail perches in an aggressive stance. Behind it a bud unfolds from the bleak end of the twigs, juxtaposed on a seemingly futile stem of nourishment. Overall it is a portrayal of the struggle for life. The vibrant and sharp Yellow Wagtail was chosen because I thought it to be a vivid representation of the unrelenting will to live present when one brings up the subject of death. |
