These photographs based on animals positioned in scenarios is based on me trying to represent beauty in decay. The animals that are dead I feel I have made them look beautiful within the scenario. The symmetry and comical feel makes you feel comfortable and quiet and almost at piece although after a while you are hit with the reality of the situation. The work isnt to shock or to gross people out but to highlight the beauty with our own existance. The animals are hung on washing line. The work has a repetitve feel to them. We often hide our true emotions when it comes to death, here it is laid out in front of you. |
