I like to have a connection with the people I paint rather than people I don't know. I try not to make them look "pretty" or glorify them, I do it to get the rawness of their natural skin- well try to! I mainly concentrate on people who have had conflict in their life, whether it be moving to a different country and how they have had to adapt, or it may be about much more personal things closer to home. I try to get this across in my paintings as much as I can, but I can only let others be the judge of that! |
