After being inspired by Chuck Close, I decided to make images of my brother showing a sad emotion. The picture is a close up of my brother's face so you cannot see below his neck. I used the daguerreotype technique in a contemporary way. The exaggerated details on his face make the viewer’s focus more on the emotion he is experiencing. I wanted to make the viewer imagine themself in the same situation for a different reason, which is why I have left the background black giving the viewer no idea of why he is crying. |
