Liquid Linguistics (before pouring)
Photographic print, 75cm x 50cm
The patterns and systems that govern our use of language are commented on here by the method used to arrange the phrases. The dispersal of words is a result of the natural convection of water as both the words and the water they floated in were poured onto a surface. The language is controlled by an ordering and regulating system as the movement of the water imposes a structure upon the words. But once the water dries, the arranging system has gone and the distribution of words once again seems arbitrary. |
