The work has been produced by a very bright, high ability Year 8 student who is extremely talented and a well liked pupil in our school.
The piece she has produced is a controversial piece (even more so for a for a twelve year old) called Dreams. The piece follows an alter-ego character she has invented and her path of destruction.
Despite the shocking imagery she has used, Shannon's art work convey's powerful storytelling about the the darker facets of adolescence. Perhaps it is more shocking that this piece could come from such a pleasant and happy young girl!
The work shown in the photo is a large A1 sized photograph that has been worked onto and pages from a supporting sketchbook, containing her process of taking photos then working into them with mixed media.
