WHERE SCHOOLS CAN DISPLAY
THEIR PUPILS' ARTWORK

Datchet St Marys School

Characteristics of Our School

Datchet St Mary’s CE Primary School caters for pupils from a variety of social backgrounds, aged between three and eleven. It is situated on the outskirts of Windsor, in an area of both rented and private housing. Although in a high socio-economic area, where many pupils go to private schools, most of our pupils come from housing association estates and traveller homes. During the past two years, there have been many staff changes. Altogether there are 251 pupils on roll, organised into nine classes, which include two nursery classes. The school is about average for primary schools, and the percentage of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals is similar to the national average. The percentage of pupils speaking English as an additional language is higher than in most schools and one year 3 pupil has no English. The percentage of pupils identified as having special educational needs, 22%, is broadly in line with the national average. The percentage of children with statements of special educational need is above the national average. Pupils’ attainment on entry to the school is below average in communication, language and literacy. This year the school has gained a National Healthy Schools Award. Pupils’ attainment at the end of KS1 and KS2 is above the local authority & national averages. Contextual value added is 101.7
