Langtree is a popular 11 - 16 coeducational comprehensive school of approximately 525 students, situated in the South Oxfordshire village of Woodcote in an extremely beautiful rural area. Owing to the popularity of the school, students come to Langtree from a number of local villages as well as from the Northern fringes of Reading and West Berkshire.

One of Langtree's greatest assets is its small size. Parents and visitors often comment on the friendly ethos in the school and all students and staff quickly get to know each other on a personal level, creating a very real sense of family and community in which each individual is known and valued. Many of the staff choose to place their own children in the school. Langtree has been developed on a strong basis of mutual respect and good behaviour, and visitors often comment on the calm and purposeful atmosphere in the corridors and classrooms.

Standards in examination results at Langtree are very high, consistently placing the school in recent years above local and national averages. This achievements gained government recognition in 2000 and 2001 in the form of two consecutive Curriculum Awards for high standards as well as Langtree's inclusion in The Times top 500 list of state secondary schools. The vast majority of Year 11 students opt to continue their education at Henley College, with many going on to University.

As well as enjoying a reputation for high academic attainment, our aim is to cater for the needs of each individual learner, and to provide opportunities which will allow all our young adults to grow in self esteem and confidence into mature and responsible citizens. Indeed, the students are superb ambassadors for the school and I have every confidence that parents and visitors will experience this first hand when visiting the school.
