Heartlands High School is a new community school which opened in September 2010 with 162 year 7 students. Every year we will take on another year group until we are at full capacity with over 800 students. We are a specialist status school in Visual, Performing Arts and Media school, and have creative partnerships with the University of the Arts London- Local artists in the Chocolate Factory Studios, Mountview Theatre Academy of Performing Arts and many other creative links. Our school is very digitally led and has some excellent facilities for the Visual and Performing Arts. A two story reception /exhibition area for student and external artist work, a 200 seat theatre with green/make up/ wardrobe rooms that can be converted into classrooms electronically, an external performance area mirroring that of an amphitheatre, green screen TV studio, three apple Mac suites and five PC suites. From September 2011 we will also provide a separate specialist autistic provision for 25 students- starting with 4 and growing each year. At Heartlands High School, we recognise the crucial role that parents/carers and teachers play in creating happy and successful young people. To make a real difference to the lives of young people, we build lasting partnerships with parents and the community. We want students to leave our school as confident, happy, creative and responsible citizens, ready for a bright future. By working together, we will ensure that our students SEARCH for success.
