Auchinleck Academy Auchinleck Academy is a six year non-denominational school with a roll in excess of 980, which serves a wide rural area in East Ayrshire. The catchment includes seven villages: Auchinleck, Muirkirk, Catrine, Drongan, Ochiltree, Mauchline and Sorn.

The school buildings were constructed in the early 1970s on a large campus on the edge of Auchinleck. Accommodation is extensive, in five blocks, with a swimming pool and adjacent playing fields.
