Dean Close School

Dean Close is a co-educational Independent day and boarding school for 13-18 year olds. It has a flourishing art department where pupils are encouraged to work in a wide range of media to fulfil their intentions. As you can see there is no particular house style; we pride ourselves on encouraging independent thinking and the diversity of creative response. This year the 'A' level moderator felt that some of our work was equivilent to degree standard which inspired me to enter the competion on the students behalf.
For many the art department becomes a sanctuary where students feel they can immmerse themselves in creative activity. I hope that you enjoy looking at the work as much as we have enjoyed watching it evolve.
