One of the newest prep schools in London, QCPS has already established a tradition of providing an excellent, rounded education, and placing happy, confident girls in leading day and boarding schools. Whilst QCPS may be one of the newest schools for girls, it is a great source of pride that Queen’s College has a long and distinguished history.
Founded in 1848, Queen’s College London was the first institution in Great Britain where women could study for and gain academic qualifications. Since it received a Royal Charter from Queen Victoria in 1853, the Patron of the College has always been a queen. In 2002 Queen’s College was instrumental in the founding of QCPS as an independent preparatory school for girls aged 4 to 11 years. QCPS is under the same Governing Council as the College and is proud that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was graciously pleased to become our Patron on the death of our first Patron, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
At QCPS we are fortunate to have such a rich heritage on which to build, harnessing the very best of traditional values with a thoroughly modern 21st century approach to education.
