Hartsdown Academy is a secondary school with 6th form subjects in select areas. Hartsdown has the most deprived intake of pupils in Kent but has flourished in its results of the last few years making it one of the most valued added schools in the UK. The art department has a wide range of specialisms from sculpture, to oil painting. This work was done by a pupil in her second year of A-level but is actually only in her first year as Harley was able to complete her AS a year early. This is her first oil painting including poster paint mixed with olive oil, based on a Turner who is a key artist to the area. Harley has updated her painting to included new local landmarks including the Tuner centre.
