endless pursuit (un-realistic equilibrium)
endless pursuit (un-realistic equilibrium)
Photo Description:
through thinking about the struggle for a modern day equilibrium between technology and nature, i begun to think about the battle between new and old, "CAT...(computer mouse)" as a slogan is about the ancient pursuit of cat after mouse, however in this case the natural "cat" is chasing a metaphorical mouse. This being reflective of how nature now is feeling and and catching up to the effects of our own advances. A further battle depicted in the work is foreground and background. Obviously there is the clash of wood and keys (new/old) but further there is the escapist meaning underneath this. The keys are supposed to resemble scuttling crabs that "esc" (the reason for the upturned ESC keys, delete..) across the work away from the floor board resembling wood (a further hint at travel). Lastly is 666 in the ... between cat and mouse which relates to the evil within the chase, the way we run from the consequences of our consumerism and the effects of it on nature or the "CAT".
