The winning work of the 2010 Saatchi Gallery / Sunday Telegraph Art Prize for Schools by Harry Churchill, aged 12, a pupil at Dulwich Preparatory School in London


The winners of the 2010 Saatchi Gallery / Sunday Telegraph Art Prize for Schools, sponsored by Deutsche Bank, were announced at a prize-giving ceremony at the Saatchi Gallery in London on 12 January 2011.

The first prize was awarded to Harry Churchill, aged 12, a pupil at Dulwich Preparatory School in London. The two runners-up are Aroseh Yaseen, aged 17, from Sir William Ramsay School in High Wycombe, and Jim Johnston, aged 17, from Hurtwood House in Dorking. The winning works are currently showing in the Saatchi Gallery / Sunday Telegraph Art Prize Gallery on the 2nd Floor

The installation "Small Chair Field" was conceived as a community work inspired by Antony Gormley's "Field." The intention was that students, staff, parents and friends should collaborate and the work grew as it toured to the participating comprehensive schools. Pupils at Fitzharrys School are taught by Nick Austin and Sara Othen who submitted their works. Pupils at Larkmead School are taught by Sue Hunter, Linda Champion and Joy Haskey who submitted their works. Pupils at John Mason School are taught by Claire Pennington, Jenny Barrett and Lucy Baxandall who submitted their works. Pupils at St Brigid's School are taught by Mark Harmsworth who submitted their works.
