‘Barbie’s World’

This is my response to the challenge of creating a sculpture on a set theme: ”Contained” in my case, containing childhood memories. As children we are always looking forward. This is essentially a view of the world through the eyes of an adolescent girl. I was inspired by the artist Jeff Koons. Barbie is surrounded by her fantasies and innocent dreams and Oh look! her light bulb hasn't come on yet! This is a maquette. If I had the resources I would have liked to have made it life size , but thats just me looking forward.
