Rosshall Academy

Glasgow / United Kingdom

Rosshall Academy Rosshall Academy is a six-year comprehensive school serving a mixed catchment area of private and local authority housing in the South West of Glasgow. The main area served by the school runs roughly between Hillington Industrial Estate and Barrhead Road, starting at Craigton and continuing to the City’s boundary with Paisley.

The school, which opened in 2002, is a purpose-built modern building with many facilities. Our roll of just over 1200 includes (approximately) 10 pupils with varying degrees of visual impairment who enjoy the benefits of mainstream education with the support of specialist VI staff.
A culture of high standards and achievement enables students to develop their full potential, building the skills, confidence and self-belief they need to become responsible and successful adults.
The Rosshall Academy creates an inspiring, secure and inclusive environment where innovative thinking and creativity is encouraged and aspirations are raised.
It is a school for the whole community with pupils, staff, , parents and members of the local community working together.
Our Learning Community encompasses all our associated primaries: Crookston Castle, Cardonald, Craigton, Hillington, and Sandwood and includes three nurseries – Crookston Castle, Rosshall and Penilee – and our two special schools – Howford and Langlands. We enjoy strong links within the Learning Community, annually agreeing shared priorities to ensure progression and continuity for all pupils from 3–18 years in the Rosshall Learning Community. ‘At Rosshall Academy, we strive to ensure that all learners maximise their potential, aspiring to excellence, in an atmosphere of equality, integrity and respect.’
