Saatchi Gallery Sculpture at School Prize
National School Sculpture Competition 2010
Rules and Regulations
For a fair and valid competition, all Schools participating in the Saatchi Gallery Sculpture at School Prize must abide by the following rules:
1. All children in each participating school, aged between 4 - 16 years will qualify for the Competition.
The age categories are as follows:
4-7 year olds
8- 10 year olds
11-13 year olds
14-16 year olds
2. Each child will be required to produce a sculpture in whatever medium they choose, using objects and materials from everyday life.
3. The sculpture must be the work of the child without adult participation other than general guidance and obvious help for health and safety. NO group efforts will be accepted. Any adult assistance will lead to automatic disqualification.
4. The theme for 2010 is THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS which requires the entrant to research the subject and then focus his/her creative imagination.
5. An Application Form must be completed by each School wishing to participate. The Application must be submitted no later than 15th September 2010. All school application forms received by 15th September will be entered into the final annual Competition as part of the Saatchi Gallery/Sunday Telegraph Schools Art Prize. Forms can be downloaded from the website.
6. Photographs of each sculpture must be sent to the Saatchi Gallery by schools to assure entry to the Competition no later than 15th September 2010.
7. Rules For Photographs: FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE RULES WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION OF THE ENTRY
Photographs must be received by the Saatchi Gallery no later than 15th September 2010 to enter the annual competition.
Photographs must be good quality, colour digital images.
The Judges make their decision from the photographs sent in. Photographs must be clearly identified with the entrant's full name, date of birth, and age category, e.g. 4-7 yrs; 8-10 yrs; etc. Name of School and Title of Sculpture.

8. There will be an annual prize awarded to the Art Department of a participating school that shows the best body of work. This Award will be in the form of prize money to the value of £1000. The award will be given in recognition of outstanding achievements by the art department and to assist in funding their Departments further. The winning pupil will receive £250 and 2 runner ups will be awarded £100 each.
9. The written consent of the school and parent/guardian as well as permission to use the entrant's photographic image for publicity purposes must be obtained before a sculpture can be accepted for the Competition. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SCHOOL TO OBTAIN PARENTAL PERMISSION FOR EACH CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION.
10. The Judges will select 3 sculptures from each age category to be shown at the Saatchi Gallery at the time of the annual Saatchi Gallery/Sunday Telegraph Schools Art Prize. The winners will be notified during the month of November 2010.
