The Knights Templar School is a mixed 11-19 school catering for children of all abilities from the area around Baldock. There are currently 1331 pupils on roll of whom over 264 are members of the Sixth Form making Knights Templar one of Hertfordshire's largest schools.
The school enjoys an excellent reputation throughout Hertfordshire and is annually oversubscribed. The secret of its success lies partly in the level of commitment demanded of its pupils, partly in the dedication of a hard-working and well-qualified staff and, by no means least, on the strong support of interested parents.
The tone is somewhat formal, though not stuffy and discipline is good without being martial. Visitors often comment on the pleasant, welcoming atmosphere they detect when they make their way around the school.
In September 2005 Knights Templar became a Specialist College in Sport and The Performing Arts
