I intend my work to be intriguing enough to engage artists, but still accessible to non-artists, too. My most recent work addresses the connection between making art and performing ordinary tasks. Even though something magical happens when making art, the actual making of it is a series of mundane tasks-- scratching a piece of charcoal across paper 4,000 times, or pressing items into clay. One way I reference this connection is to make 'fine art' about daily tasks like doing laundry or taking out the garbage.
