Site specific installation. Red ribbon and red wool wrapped around silver birch trees outside the Tate Modern. This piece was created on Remembrance Sunday. The red grid is a memorial to those who have died for us at war and symbolises the bloodshed. The strength but fragility of these young trees remind me of all the young men sent out to war, planted so close together, they will, at some point, be thinned out. |
