Perhaps objects would be put together using aesthetic decisions that somehow stumble across a resonance of nearly how they were once used. These objects were all found on Orford Ness, a spit off the Suffolk coast which was an enormous inspiration to me. It is a place of incredible contrasts. A fascinating juxtaposition of man and nature. Once a top secret ex-atomic bomb testing site, it is now a National Trust reservation for rare birds. The elements are attacking what man has left behind leaving a desert of twisted, rusting metal and eerie derelict buildings. |
