Zebras are like a living piece of art, with their striking black and white stripes, each animal’s pattern is as unique as a humans fingerprint. With this in mind, I meticulously painted each individual stripe, which was incredibly time consuming, but I wanted it to be distinctive to this particular animal, as a form of identification.
I chose to paint this zebra, in a way that it appears to walk onto the canvas, to suggest movement but also to create a greater presence of the animal, as if a piece of wild Africa has just walked into your room. (Oil paint)
