 My Favourites
Artists Big fan of Eva Hesse, Louise Bourgeois, Alice Neel, Rachel Whiteread, Rebecca Horn, Cornelia Parker, Annette Messeger, Sarah Lucas, Jenny Saville... Robert Rauschenberg's Combines... Picasso and Miro's sculptures and Miro's rugs... Duchamp, Dali, Basquiat, Hirst, Emin & Banksy's irreverance... Davinci and Michelangelo's ingenuity, breadth and masterful skill...
Places USA: New England: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island-- all beautiful getaways for the jaded native New Yorker who needs some fresh air and open spaces-- I saw my very first chipmunk in Maine... New York: Long Island beaches, Lower East Side Manhattan, Westchester County; Florida: South Beach, Coconut Grove, The Keys; UK: Scotland: Edinburgh, Arran, and anywhere where there is purple heather in abundance... England: Cambridge, Brighton, London, and I hear Whitstable is worth a look-in... Wales: Won't even attempt to spell the places I visited, but they were rather beautiful!! Ireland: wanna explore it more! Only been to Co Kerry... Loved the coastline! I hear Cork is worth a long visit and hearty appetite... Italy: Everywhere, bar a very few exceptions... Spain: Barcelona, if not for the pick pockets... Germany: The coast along the North Sea; Netherlands: Not been but need to go to Amsterdam-- not for the smoke-- grown out of that long time ago-- but for the sex trade-- only joking-- no, I just want to go for the beauty of the canals and the chilled out vibes everyone keeps talking about; Thailand: Krabi, only now it's overdeveloped, if it's even there at all.
People Stock top favourite, but true: Albert Einstein. Then, in no particular order: Umberto Eco. Mark Twain. Ernest Hemingway. Simone DeBeauvoir. Pablo Picasso. Georgia O'Keefe. Peter O'Toole. (more to come when I have more time)
