My photographic methodology juxtaposes large-scale portraits with images of miscellaneous objects. Through the rigorous control afforded by the utilisation of a 4x5 camera, combined with digital manipulations, I seek to investigate notions of the real by way of a simultaneous revelation and negation of clarity. In doing so, I question both reductionist and holistic approaches to understanding the way things are, and draw attention to the systems at play within the photographic art object itself.
