By creating concentrated depictions of natural elements, I aim to re-introduce nature’s visual language from my studies of environmental pattern, form and colour. My art is often an examination of components combined with philosophical exploration. In particular, I have been considering how often humans enjoy nature but only on their terms, and the consequent management and manipulation that dominate. The images that result have often been deciphered and relayed as large oil on canvas paintings.
I recently exhibited in a 17th Century Barn at Thames Chase, Upminster and at ‘The Hospital’ in Covent Garden when I was short-listed for Nationwide Mercury Art Prize 2006. I’m currently on my final year at Middlesex University studying a BA in Fine Art.
