I attended Northern Illinois Universityy's School of Performing and Visual Arts from 1986 to 1989. My emphasis was in painting, graphic design and art history. I also was a founding member of a popular local band, Big Picture. While in college I began my career in art by creating set designs and public art projects the City of Oak Lawn and local park district. I also worked for local papers doing keyline and pasteup.
Upon graduating, I was employed as a graphic designer and freelance graphic designer for several Fortune 100 corporations. I was later a senior designer for the award-winning Chicago graphic design firm, Windy City Communications. I also began painting again.
After leaving the corporate design world, I started my own graphic design business and began re-focusing on my oil painting. I have been doing both since. In 2000, I designed and painted a CD cover for the Grammy nominated recording "It's Like This" for American singer/songwriter Rickie Lee Jones. I also did illustration for her website, www.rickieleejones.com
