I photograph primarily at night in Cleveland with a 4x5. This work explores the nighttime industrial landscape as a psychological environment in which, as a young woman, I am completely out of place. The exposures are often hours long, and I seek to reclaim this area as a beautiful place, where I have a role. Their often surreal colors are caused by the various combinations of natural and artificial light; they are not digitally manipulated.
I also have been photographing my grandmother's house in South Carolina. I use the process of photographing it as a way to observe and make contact with the objects that define my family's history and lifestyle.
I appreciate any comments/criticisms; don't hesitate to contact me.
Andrijana Pajovic <andrijana> I really like first four of your pictures, I suppose that you made them in your grandmother's house. I esspecially prefer their style, a kind of composure, calm emptiness, and warmth in the same time. I saw many photo-serials with subject of family houses and private spaces, but your is different and its truly your. It will be nice if you can post more of these family pictures. Regards!
