Claudia Rickert <crrickert> Richard, I feel the need to once again compliment you. The sensitivity of you work is hard to escape. I feel sadness and despair in each and every building that you have photographed. These photos bring forth the emotion of losing something that was strong, beautiful, and full of life. They were alive. They have lost their usefulnes and have become expendable. Now they are left to decay and then to be destroyed. Not unlike how "humans" treat other living beings. Be it animals, plants, the earth or other humans. I think that your sculpture brings this feeling back on the human level. The persons rights are taken away. This might not be death...but it does seem to be an end.

Richard- Your "Flintstones parody" of street people are saddening. Even though they are in a cartoon style, they have a feeling of malice. A sense of doom. Looking at these paintings I have a strong desire to rid the earth of these miscreants...or at least beat some sense into them. How interesting. I wonder if these characters were in a cartoon for children, what effect would they have on them? I imagine it would be quite different than that of The Flintstones, or maybe not. These evil creatures might have watched The Flintstones too. What a chilling thought. |

Claudia Rickert <crrickert> Richard- I have to say that "One Memory..." is my favorite painting of yours. Looking at this piece at first gives me this odd feeling of security. The cradling effect of the building and tree. The clear blue sky against the warm interior light. The lush green grass. But at another glance I feel a morphing effect. Every thing is falling apart. It turns into a wicked dream or like looking into the mind of a tortured soul. |

I wanted to thank you for your very kind words. It seems you're one of the very few persons right now to believe my work actually has a meaning, and, just so you know, I highly appreciate it. It is always a good feeling for an artist to know his work is appreciated.
I must, though, again state how much I admire your work as well, especially your sculptures. You seem to have a quite original approach on social statement, which I find both amusing and disturbing (in a good way, though).
