Lorna Logan
Norwich School Of Art And Design, Sculpture
My sculptures have always been influenced by the human form, specifically the female figure. I’m interested in the internal and external construction of the body with particular reference to skin, texture, pattern and repetition which are themes that constantly emerge within my practice.
I use metals and resin as well as found objects to create my work. Skill is very important to me, my work demands a high level of making as well as a developed understanding of the materials and the technical processes involved in their manipulation.
The sculptures I make are time consuming; my obsession for perfection and concern for detail creates a quality of preciousness and beauty.
I studied at Newcastle College, Norwich School of Art and design, and Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Kunste, Karlsruhe, Germany.
