| This painting forms part of a new series of paintings that I’m working on. Based on nude photographs taken by Eugene Durieu. (1800-1874)
Durieu was an amateur photographer as well as a painter. Working with his friend the artist Ferdinand-Victor-Eugene Delacroix (1798-1863), Durieu made a series of photographs using female and male models. Delacroix would use the photographs for drawing in his sketchbook aswell as studies for his paintings. |
