Laurence Kavanagh

About the Artist

Since 2003 Laurence Kavanagh has worked primarily as an interdisciplinary artist in various forms of media which address film and literature in relation to archival imagery and materials found in the domestic environment. A further aspect of his practice resides in curatorial projects that encourage collaboration and debate amongst artists. His most recent project The Lonely House was based on the last films shown in the cinemas’ of Archway, London, before they were demolished. This installation explored the cinematic image and its’ relationship to the perception of object, location and architecture.
