I am an enthusiastic lomographer, using Holga cameras and a lomo lca to photograph landscapes of England (and beyond). Film, whether black & white or colour, captures detail and interprets light in a way that the more sophisticated digital camera cannot. The beauty of the Holga is that, having only one shutter speed and aperture, the only control the photographer has is over the choice of film and (most importantly of all) framing the subject matter. All the photographer's efforts are therefore focussed on the image itself with no other technical distractions. |
