My artwork has been inspired by technical drawings I did as an engineering apprentice and the Rotring pens I used then are integral to what I do as an artist today. I like to think that what I do is skillful, as well as conceptual. I like to draw in high levels of enlarged detail to the point where the work cannot be recognised at close range, providing for a "eureka!" moment when the subject is identified at long range. |
