| About the Artist | |
I explore the alternative fantasy characters I carry around in my head. These are drawn from stereotypical icons of male attire, both classic and from fetish subcultures. I am intrigued by the fractured imaginary personalities we all secretly nurture and try to express the many sides of me and my obsessions using portraits of myself and others, which are digitally transfered onto my own vintage uniforms, suits and military artefacts. Smoking is the other inspiration as I am drawn to contentious issues and loathe being told I can't do something. Most of my work uses smoking as a source of imagery and also for raw materials such as ash, cigarboxes and humidors. |

| Fine Art Textiles at Goldsmiths 1980 -83 Group shows at Brixton Art Gallery 1983-84 Shows with Gay Mens Press in conjunction with the publication ' Out In Art' at Interim Gallery and Royal Festival Hall 1984. Performance of my Aids Shirts at Riverside Studios 1985. I was one of the founder members of NoLoGo which pioneered the recycling art movement from 1987, we had art & fashion shows at the Submarine Gallery in King's X and other venues, TV appearances and ran designer recycled-clothing outlets through Oxfam. |
