I was born just outside of Pittsburgh PA in 1976 and now live in New York City. I am a painter and a dreamer and sometimes the two mix dangerously. |

I appropriate imagery from magazines and turn ads/photos into paintings changing their purpose and identity. This is done through a process that I've created over years of painting. I build my works through layers of material and actions that give my works a look of distress or aggression. I leave pieces unpainted creating focal points in each work that help to tell a story. You can see all my emotions build up and pour into my work. All my frustrations, passion and anger mix to create glimpses of what I think is good work. People where I'm from don’t make art and most live day to day. I’m trying to wiggle my way into this game the best way I know how. I do that by just creating my work and keep pushin until you accept that it’s actually worth look at. |
