The work of Sydney based artist Alan Jones is heavily informed by travel – and the varied experiences that travelling engenders. In 2004 Alan Jones won the Brett Whitely Travelling Art Scholarship, a much sought after prize where the recipient receives a three-month residency at the Cite International des Arts in Paris. Jones’ work, which was already noted for its dynamic composition and strong graphic quality, has since strongly developed in its thematic concerns. |
