Artist statement by: Theodore Beers. The process of discovery is for me the most fascinating part of art. While making paintings, drawings and prints I allow them to retain a rawness or spontaneity demonstrating my ambition to create original art and hopefully convey to the viewer a sense of the discoveries taking place. One way that I do this is to give my work a transparency of materials that will give others as well as myself a glimpse between the pieces and see the actual art taking place. The ideals of learning from my own work and allowing the process to be visible are even more interesting to me than the creation of a single great object. |
