| Education and biography |
Lauren Semivan earned her Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Cranbrook Academy of Art (2006), and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI (2004). While at Cranbrook, she was awarded the Daimler Chrysler Emerging Artist Award for the department of Photography, and two competitive merit scholarships.
Her work has been shown at David Klein Gallery in Birmingham, MI, Fluxspace in Philadelphia, PA, the Wriston Art Center at Lawrence University, Cranbrook Art Museum, Cleveland Institute of Art, The Scarab Club in Detroit, MI, and Daimler Chrysler Financial Services Headquarters in Berlin, Germany. Her work was recently published by Wright State University Press in an international survey of contemporary photography entitled "Photography Now: 100 Portfolios." Additionally, her work has been featured in Allan Lamb’s Framing Photography, and Shots Magazine. Lauren is represented by David Klein Gallery (www.dkgallery.com) and currently lives and works in Springfield, MO.
