| Rosemary Lucy Cosentino |
| |
Welcome to my Profile! I was born in Montreal, Canada, and am currently working from my studio here. I am developing a new series of works, and will be exhibiting them in 2007-2008
 |

| About the Artist |
Contemporary Figurative Painter Rosemary Lucy Cosentino, first generation of Italian decent, was born in Montreal, Quebec. She was exposed to art at an early age with the influences of her uncle Salvatore Marino, and aunt- recognised Italian painter Angela Leonardi. Walter Leonardi famed photographer also had his influences on her with his eccentric travels and exotic celebrity photographs published internationally.
She received a DEC in Fine Arts at Dawson College established for it's Art programs in 1995, and a Bachelor in Fine Arts with distinction at Concordia University in 1998. Two time winner of the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant, (1997 & 2000), she was the youngest to have received it the first time at the age of 21 in 1997. Having won a special commission from Pfizer Inc. USA., her work has toured Istanbul, Austria, England, the USA and Japan.
A successful 2002 Solo Exhibition entitled "Silent Narratives- Duality & Times Capsules", has led her to another Solo Exhibition entitled “Journeys…Duality & Time Capsules II”, September -October, 2003, at the Verdun Cultural Center. Recently, her work was published in the new book "L’Aura di Giorgio De Chrico”, by Dr. Klaus Podoll, and Ubaldo Nicola. It was launched at the De Chrico retrospective in Rome 2003. Another book launch by Company owner Av Morrow for Avmor Inc., will feature Rosemary L. Cosentino as part of the Avmor Art Collection.
Currently, Rosemary L. Cosentino has been confined in her studio building a body of work, which consists of very large to miniature works. Her strong attachment to the Old Master techniques with influences from Rembrandt, Gentileschi, Ingres, and Bouguereau to name a few- has lead her to explore and come up with her own distinct color palette and style. Contemporary artists such as Stephen Conroy, Hanneline Rogeberg, Lucian Freud and Odd Nerdrum, have a had a deep impact in the direction.
Rosemary L. Cosentino is an Active member of the RAAV & SODART, (Régroupement des Artists en Arts Visuels de Québec, Société de Droits D’Auteur), numerous artist groups on the internet, and is currently represented by The James Baird Gallery, Newfoundland. She has had representation by the Sandra Goldie Gallery, David Astrof Fine Arts and Esthésio Contemporain in Quebec City, and and Galerie D’Avignon Montreal, Quebec 2004.
Her interests are to dissiminate her artwork in and across Canada, in order to make her contribution to Canada as a Canadian artist.
