Starting with a spontaneous burst of inspiration, I approach the paper as a good listener. Believing strongly that with give and take, one can be true to the nature of the story. As an artist, I see all things owning a potential story. It is with a balance of excitement and serenity that allows the natural impact of subtlety within the story to take it's course. Knowing that in the midst of color, passion, energy and movement - there lies a quiet truth. Though my work, on a visual level is bold - visibly bursting with color and movement - the underlying narrative is subtle. Beginnings and endings overlap. Movement forward and back is forever changing. Finished pieces move on an axis of truth with a voice that seemingly shouts but actually whispers. As with all things it takes a sensitive ear and an insightful eye to transcend the surface and find the heart. It is my mission, as an artist, to make this discovery and fly with it! |
