My awakening to art began after high school when visiting the Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. There, I fell in love with a painting that changed my life. It moved me from the study of music to a BS degree in art and continuing education with painting and color theory classes at San Francisco Art Institute.
After several careers varying from social work to the decorative concrete industry, I now devote full time to creating art. I work from my home based studio in the mountains of Northern California. Nature, spirituality, painting and sculpture are great loves!

| About the Artist |
I live in a wilderness area where there is a multitude of natural form. The random tangled foliage inspires a random paint application in the abstract landscapes. The female nude gently abstracted with similar form is an opportunity to explore color, shade, rhythm and movement. |

This work was part of a 2008 show that focused on raising awareness of a world in crisis. The show highlighted innocent children as victims. The subject matter drawn from a photo hopefully increases empathy for this mother and child. http://www.usaid.gov/locations/sub-saharan_africa/sudan/images/displaced_persons/photo06_highres.html. Original caption states: "Photo credit: USAID Caption:Kebkabiya IDP mother and 27 month old child: At a camp for IDPs in Kebkabiya, North Darfur, a mother holds her malnourished child."
