In my artwork I create a new magic reality. I draw my subject matter from the anecdotal circumstances of the people around me – their dreams and daily lives. I am more and more disposed for bold enigmatic renderings of those circumstances. |

For me painting is a way to express my very innermost feelings, it allows to create another reality – light, ironical, lighthearted, as an opposite to the pretentious, mercenary, self-destroying world. My personages are unaware, innocent and joyful, although they stay in context of real life hassles. I feel a kind of spiritual unity with them and for me painting is a way of gaining inner harmony, way of coming to terms with that ambiguous reality. My favorite technique is oil because I feel it better than other materials; I like its deepness, thickness, manageability, intensity. My spectator is the one who preserved that childlike fresh way of perception, or is trying to recall or get back those innocent feelings, when world has been only a matter for dreams and fantasies. |
