关于此艺术家

From the beginning I have always admired realism. I love how an artist can take what they see and duplicate it on to a canvas, portraying a unique style and influence particular to the artist thats more beautiful than the real thing. My artwork involves a lot of realism, as I like to pay particular attention to detail. My favourite artist is Artimisia Gentileschi, who painted realistically in the 1600's, one of the only female artists recognized in her era.
Often I look at her work for inspiration.

Wedding day

2006

This drawing was a series of six self portraits of me on my wedding day. They expressed different facial expressions, which characterised the many emotions that were racing through my mind on the day. I chose to do black and white, as expression is enhanced more than when using colour, and also to represent a past- time, not present.

In my Shoes

2006
42cm x 29cm

In My Shoes is a series of four, that depicts baby shoes, school shoes, formal shoes and finally wedding shoes. This particular series was about my life, and the different shoes I wore at different events or stages of life I remember most. This artwork was chosen for an exhibition, therefore I decided to use it, over all the rest.

Kaliedescope

2006
60cm x 90cm

This artwork was for an assignment. I had to depict the cubist stle. So I chose to do a horse in a futurist/ cubist way. By doing more then one head and several legs, it gives viewers the illusion of movement, which is a futurism influence. The paint was applied thickly with palette knife to create texture.

Michael

2006
71cm x 100cm

This was a painting of a clown named Michael that came and modelled for my class. We had to do a portrait of him on canvas, and this is my representation.

Casualties of War

2003
52cm x 38cm (as printed for exhibition)

This was a series of three based on identity for a yr 12 school project. I chose to do it digitally using Photoshop 5.5. It is based on how war effects each and every one of us, even if we try to avoid it- we are all casualties of war in our own individual way. I chose to depict the trade center terrorist attack in 2001, as I am from New York, and feel a deep pain for what happened September 11. This Artwork won a Highly Commended at the Ministry of Art awards 2003 in QLD.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow- Ho

2003
56cm x 46cm (as printed for exibition)

This was another class project based on Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. I chose a prominant thing that will remain a part of history, the present and the future forever: WAR. I chose the Holocaust to represent the past, and terrorism to represent the future. As we can not predict the future, there was no artwork to represent that. Again I used Photoshop 5.5, using a collage of images and tools to create the composition.

Bandicoot Children's Clothing

2004
can be printed any size

This is a logo I designed on a vector program called Freehand 10. It was for an assignment where i was given a name, and i had to design the business, which includes promotional material and a logo. I was given the name Bandicoot, and decided it would be a great name for a children's clothing store. So i designed a name logo that suited bandicoot, along with a letterhead, brochure and business card to match.

Bandicoot Brochure

2004
can be printed any size

My business brochure for Bandicoot. A professional brochure exhibiting what the businesses target audience is, their mission and goals, as well as their products.

教育程度与个人自传
Throughout high school I studied art, year 12 being my most productive year. After graduation, I studied for a Visual Art Diploma at Central Queensland Institute of TAFE. Amongst graduating and moving to New South Wales, I decided to enroll in another course, studying for a Fine Arts Diploma, which I am currently in. In this course I was introduced to photography, painting and ceramics, as well as more drawing of the visible world. The course is helping me to refine my artistic abilities, and decide where I want to go next in the future. My goal is to be a graphic designer or art teacher.
