Vladimir Obr is a painter, photographer and multimedial artist.
He was making photographs before he knew read and write.
In 1973 he studied informatics at the University and at the Institute of Artistic Photography.

In the course of his studies he began to exhibit graphics, paintings, photographs and jewellery. He had more than 100 exhibitions that time in the Czechoslovakia. This was very exacting time.
People who know the history of Czech republic in more details know that it was very difficult to create on freelance and when you did not want to collaborate with communistic party you had problems. But he always kept his freedom and was creating on the loose together with his life partner, wife Anna Obrova (painter, graphic, writer and illustrator of beautiful books for children). This was quite dangerous in that time and therefore they could not have any childs.
Now he is exhibiting in the whole world, member of many artistic associations and was many times awarded for his art. In 2004 started his own important international Non-Profit project „COLOUR WINGS“ for children in area of artistic education without saying a word, borders and barriers.
Since 2000 has together with his wife own manager and representative Katerina Adamkova.
LOVER OF GARDEN AND NATURE
Since he was a small child he fell in love with working in the garden with his grandfather and this is still his passion. This contact with nature is for his whole next life the most important inspiration and „school“ of finding inspiration from colours, shapes and nature rules.
He also loves finding the beauty in ice, water, snow and other pure structures and details.
Even if he is creating abstraction the basic philosophy is conservative because he always finds more important finding than looking for.
ARTWORKS
He prefers to paint in oils.
Mixed media artworks creates in combination of photographic and painting techniques, finally he treats them in an original way on his computer.
His works include a large variety of themes (mostly abstract): spiritual, geometric abstraction, during his life moved from monochromatic to colourfull artworks.
