Daniel H Hochstein

About the Artist

Hochstein began his life as an artist in his early teens, creating pen & ink drawings in Junior High school, attempting to depict what he witnessed in dreams.

His body of work includes realistic and surrealistic pieces created in oil, acrylic, charcoal, ink, graphite, as well as pieces combining multimedia technologies with conventional mediums.

The artist has traveled extensively in Western Europe and North America, drawing on his varied life experiences to inspire his artistic creations.

His works are in private collections in the United States, Germany, Russia the Netherlands and Australia, and have appeared in publications such as: The New York Times, Boston Globe, and Art Business News.Hochstein describes his inspiration as coming from stress, loneliness, a perceived “lack of time”, and the need to "express concepts that cannot be explained with words”.

Influences:

Edward Hopper, Salvador Dali, René Magritte
