Born in the north east of england, as an only child i spent my childhood within the rural environment of a small hamlet situated along side the river wear, growing up on the river, i feel on reflection my childhood continues to feed into my on going research of light and environment, growing up in a solitude and restricted world of dyslexia, i now find my work has become a form of communicate to the world, a true reflection of the person i am. My life contiunes to lead me in directions which progress the potentail of light its self as a physical entity within our environment.

| About the Artist |
The work reflects my desire to interat with the world, to communicate with others in a way that is founded on purity and simplicity. The work is concerned with the medium of light and the way it is perceived visually and mentally. I am drawn to the non tangable nature of light, and how it can become part of the atmosphere - becomes a physical presence. My focus relates to the manipulation and control of light within an environment, in particular the manipulation of light to become an entity within itself.
The work takes the viewer on a optical journey through the complexities of perception, transporting the viewer from the reality to the non identifiable, therby becoming a gateway to the imagination. By producing an inescapable moment in time, the work becomes a vehicle through which to explore the exciting phenomena of light. |
